Enjoy competing?  We thought it would be fun to your best workout times on our web site for two popular trails.  Time reporting is on the honor system.  We hope you enjoy this and that it helps motivate you to do your best!  We would like to add a road bike time trial tothe towers, if anyone is interested.    
    The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Division has SILENT SUNDAY once a month at South Mountain.  On Silent Sundays, bicyclists, tots in strollers, in-line skaters, wheelchair users, hikers and runners get to call the Park's roadways their own. From 5a.m.- 11p.m., the park's roadways past the Central Avenue gate* will be reserved for non-motorized use. 2008 Dates: Jan. 13, Feb. 24, March 30, April 27, May 25, June 22, July 27, Aug. 24, Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 23 and Dec. 28.  *All other park entrances and parking areas remain open to vehicles.  For more details, see their web site.

Buena Vista Parking Lot Time Trial- Mtn Bike or Run

Time begins on Fire Road, at the edge of the parking lot. Head out Fire Road.  Take the Mormon Loop Trail to the National Trail and continue on National Trail to the Buena Vista parking lot. Running times stop at the top step, entering the parking lot.  Mtn Bikers post your round trip times.

Desert Classic Trail Time Trial- Mtn Bike or Run
Start line is the display board on Desert Classic Trail just past the Ramada. Head out Desert Classic Trail to the water tank.  Turn around is at mile post # 31 (top of the hill).  Runners and bikers post your round trip times.  *note: post #31 is immediately after #29.  

Towers Road Bike Time Trial
This road bike time trial begins at the second guard shack off Central entrance (the one by the bathrooms & water fountain).  Head straight up to the towers. Time ends at the beginning of the parking lot just past the towers.

San Juan Road Bike Time Trial
Time begins at the second guard shack off Central entrance (the one with the bathrooms).  Head straight to San Juan Trail and back. Time ends when you get back to the same guard shack you started at.

Echo Canyon Run Time Trial
The details of this time trial course are being worked out!  If you are familiar with this trail and can send us start and stop points, we will post it.
